Conductor back in hospital
PA Auckland A decision will be made this morning on whetheStanley Black, the noted English conductor, will be fit to conduct the Symphonia of Auckland in a light music concert in Auckland this evening. Mr Black was admitted to the Mater Hospital last evening for doctors to do further tests on his kidney complaint that caused cancellation of a similar concert on Saturday evening. The conductor, who is 65, developed severe pains and collapsed on a sofa at TV2 studios just before he was due to go on television live about noon on Saturday. The pain is believed to have been caused by a kidney stone, and on medical advice the concert was cancelled. Mr Black was admitted to Auckland Hospital on Saturday' for tests and observation. He was discharged at noon yesterday but after he was seen by a specialist last evening it was decided he should be admitted to the Mater Hospital for more tests.
