It beat the struggling Timaru side, Northern Hearts, 4-0, in Dunedin on Saturday to maintain its unblemished record of four wins in four matches.

Shamrock, although it has played an extra match, is in second place after its 2-2 draw with Western at Riccarton Domain. A' goal in the first half

by Peter Schuyt and another from Rob Cook gave Shamrock what should have been a winning lead. However, in the final two minutes Danny O’Neill and Dean Palmer scored for Western to salvage a point. Two goals each by Malcolm Parker and Steve Dunn gave Rangers its best win this season over Cashmere-Wanderers at Rangers Park while a Peter Hyland penalty was enough for Technical to record its first win of the season oxer New Brighton. In Dunedin. North End United and Caversham played out a scoreless draw.

Only two matches were played in the Broadlands Qualifying League on Saturday because of the Adidas Challenge Trophymatches. They resulted: Christchurch United 0. Woolston W.M.C. 0; Rangiora 6, University 2.
