Increase in estimate for health
The Christchurch City Council’s health department may require a 38 per cent rise in rates this year, to bring total spending to about $696,000. But the department expect® to earn $324,504 this year, which will account for about half of the total spending. The income forecast is $124,000 above the figure at estimtes time last year. Total spending would rise from $468,913 if a health and general committee recommendation is approved Public health activities themselves would cost! $44,330, and dog registration! and control $113,000. Fees for dog registration and control are likely to reach $88,650. In addition, hydatids control speding is estimated at $154,000. An over-all salaries increase during the year could cost $56,800.
