Regal Edition to spell
n A Auckland Regal Edition will not run in the Whitbread Stakes, the big two-year-old race at Avondale tomorrow.
"There’s nothing wrong with her,” said her trainer, J. A. Gibbs, yesterday. "It’s just that I don’t think she’s quite up to winning at this stage. She’ll go out now until next season. She’s been ’up - a fair while.” With wins in the Ellerslie Sires' Produce Stakes and Eclipse Stakes and a secom in the Matamata Breeders' Stakes, Regal Edition is th' highest stake-earner two year-old filly for the season.
