Williams 3 0805 LOVE STRUCK (18) 53. flood little stayer at best and unlucky last time at Tauranga. Good chance. D. Peake 4 3035 BIG GAMBLE (21) 52. One of the most promising young stayers last season, lias raced well on occasions this term but. also often disappointing. R. Taylor 5 0080 GOLDEN FOX (2) 51. Good, free-running galloper at best. Had a run at Hclensville last Saturday and could be getting close to best, R. Vance 5 6909 APOSTLE (10) 49.5 Showed plenty of promise in Intermediate company but finding open class tough. 7 2400 TOMMY'S PRIDE (2) 49.5. Disappointing last two starts after looking as though he might be ready for winning form again. Worth consideration. 8 0329 MORVEN CHIEF (17) 59. Front runner which managed close second behind Noble Mistress last time on this track. Meanwhile weakened at Hastings but pretty certain to be prominent. 9 0900 PROUD SOVEREIGN (6) 49. Tailed field in when resuming after a spell last Saturday Hardly likely x to have improved sufficiently. K. Reggett 10 6053 SOVEREIGN'S DREAM (8) 49. Runs on sometimes as though likely to win at short notice but form altogether not too encouraging. W. Robinson 11 0065 MARCEAU (1) 48.5. Best known as a sprinter. Made some ground last time at Ellerslie but stamina to last the distance could be in question. 12 0090 ROYAL REWARD (11) 48.5. Best form good but needs the ground very soft. Will probably take further benefit from this race. ( 13 0144 AGFAMAN (12) 48. In good form and turned in another solid run when fourth at Avondale on Tuesday. Lightweight possibility. S. Autridge 14 00 ARCTIC BAY (15) 48. Showed good form a while back but has not done well enough lately. 15 3154 BAD NA BAY (16) 48. Promising front-runner which came to light with good win in intermediate grade at Trentham. Good lightweight chance. U 2105 BEAUJOLAIS (6) 48. Made ground for fifth at first attempt in open class al Avondale. Stays better than most and one of best light iveight chances.

D. Cameron 17 4170 CANNED HEAT (13) 48. Failed badly in two starts since winning at Ruakaka in March. Will most likely find this class too demanding. B. Compton 18 0010 CHILLY RECEPTION (19) 48. Unreliable sort which „ his de P‘ h here. 22 0870 ROYAL REVENUE (20) 48. Has lost form since winning at Ellerslie in October. Hard to fanev. 23 0870 SUPER VALUE (3) 48. Completely out of form. Might appreciate easing of the track.

Balloted out in older of reentry: 21 5699 PUNCHINELLO (23) 48 Came through grades Im pressively but lias yet to show best form in open com pany. D. Skelton 19 6087 COMMUNITY AFFAIR (14) 48. Better race for seventh over 1600 m on first day but could not be a chance* in this higher class. 20 6254 DAVID CAMPBELL (4) 48. Siring of placing# in lower grades but hard to consider in this. 2.25 p.m.— BEGG HANDICAP >4000; 1200 m. 1 2021 LADY BELLE (lOi 57; won sprint impressively at Avondale On Tuesday. Should be again hard to beat. D Peake 2 2174 SHAMURA (13) 56.5. Weakened last bit when fourth behind Lady Belle at Avondale on 'Tuesday. Last won at Ellerslie on April 1. Needs firm ground so chance probably running out. J. Moody 3 8232 WANDELLE (5) 55.5. Run down lasi bit by Lady Belle on Tuesday after close third to Shamura at Ellerslie on April 1- Always a chance. G. Forbes 4 0903 SILVER IMAGE (16) 54.5. Capable sprinter at best. Showed benefit of recent runs when third to Lad> Belle last Tuesday. Could improved further. Needs soft ground.

R. Vance 5 7560 EXTRA FLASH (1) 53. Developed excellent form during the summer but not as good lately although fair sixth two starts back in Stars Travel Stakes at Tauranga. T. Autridqe 6 00 YOSAN (3) 52. Outpaced at Avondale on Tuesday when resuming after a fail spell. Good at best but might need further racing and a bit more ground.

C. McNab 7 547 EVAN DE R (9) 50. Well performed middle distance runner which will be having second race following a spell.

D. Wyatt 8 0187 KAY WARD (11) 49.5. Won three starts back at Rotorua but disappointing meanwhile at Ellerslie and Avondale on Tuesday.

S. Autridqe 9 2227 LADY CLARICE (4) 49 Ended run of good form when seventh at last start at Hawera , and this is much tougher.

10 5005 ALBACORE (2) 48.5. Has shown occasional good form Jjut wins have been few and lar between. This will be first race since early Janu ary. Still worth some attention.

B. Compton 11 9115 FLIGHTMAN (17) 48 5. Cleared intermediate com pany in good form. Win two starts back, was at Avondale in December. This will be first race since December 29. 12 7211 LOYAL NAVY (14) 48.5. Handsome winner at last two starts in intermediate sprints at Pukekohe and Ellerslie but will very likely need this one. his first race

since January. 13 9000 Ml GOLD (6) 48.5. Showed useful form last winter but this will be first race since early December. Might go well fresh but more likely to need more time and softer

ground. 14 0000 ORIENTAL PRINCE (20) 48.5. Once highly promising stayer which will be coming back to racing after a spell of some four months. Best

efforts have been over longer distances. 15 8075 TYRANT (13) 48.5. Has failed this, last year or so to fulfil early expectations. Fair fifth of nine at last start in

sprint at Ellerslie on March 27. 16 6087 COMMUNITY AFFAIR (8) 48. Looked good year or two back but meanwhile mainly disappointing. Has failed to do better than fourth so far this season. 17 2060 FORECAST (19) 48. Won Great Northern Foal Stakes but has failed this season to “come up’' again. Finished second four si arts back at Te Rapa in February.

D. Skelton 19 0838 LADY ALTON (15) 48. Has the speed to be prominent, even from so wide, but ability to slay sufficiently well a bit doubtful. Faded in last two starts at Wav-

erley and Hawera. . D. Cameron 20 0006 MISTY BRAE (22) 48. Probably needed race when weakening sixth behind Ladv Belle at Avondale on Tuesday. Could improve but faces stiff task from wide barrier d raw. 22 1760 SORRANA (21) 48.

Looked good in intermediate company but has failed in two attempts in higher grade. Hardly likely from so wide. K. Reggett Balloted out in order of reentry: 18 1300 FREELANCE (18) 48. Surprise winner in intermediate sprint at Ellerslie in October. Let us soon after and this will be first race since. 21 2112 SHIFTEASE (7) 48 Looked good through intermediate grades and followed easy win at Avondale with close second at Tauranga on April 15. Has weight concession this tougher company. One to consider. W. Robinson
