1080 poison
Sir, — Mr Batchelor has stated that my letter on the use of 1080 noisonina is grossly misleading. I made the point that there is no antidote for 1080; on that he agreed. I must admit that that part of my letter that
read “continues to dump hundreds of tons of 1080 every year all over New Zealand” should have had the word “carrots”, inserted after the word 1080. I feel that the most misleading part of that statement, is the words “hundreds of tons”. It should have read “thousands of tons”. I feel that Mr Batchelor has pointed out the dangers of 1080 much better than I can. I am among a growing number of people who do not feel that the massive aerial shooting and poisoning are the answers toour problems, if indeed these problems do exist. — Yours, etC ” LAURIE COLLINS.
