"A Wooden Ark”

It was the purpose of Satan and his fallen angels to corrupt the human race and thereby do away with pure Adamite stock through whom the seed of the woman should come. This would avert their own doom and make it possible for Satan and his kingdom to keep control of the planet earth indefinitely. It was said to Adam and Eve that the seed of the woman should defeat Satan and restore man's dominion. (Gen. 3:15). The only way then, for Satan to avoid this predicted defeat was to corrupt the pure Adamite line so that the coming of the seed of the woman into the world would be made impossible.

This, he tried to accomplish by sending some of his fallen angels to marry the daughters of men as in (Gen. 6:1-4) and producing the giant nations through them. Satan almost succeeded in his plen except for Noah and his. family who were the only pure Adamrtss left to be preserved by the Ark. (Gen. 6:8-13). "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an Ark to the saving of his house". (Heb. 11:7). Whereas Noah exercised an obedient faith by complying with God's instructions, the rest of the human race outside of Noah's family ignored the warning

of 120 years and subsequently perished in the flood. We see so clearly the doctrine of the Ark and its connection with the death of Christ. As in the flood, so in the death of Christ, all the waves and billows of divine judgement passed over that which in itself was without sin. The creation was buried beneath the flood of God's righteous wrath, and the Spirit of Christ exclaims, "Ail thy waves and billows have gone over me". (Ps 42:7). Here is a profound truth for the heart and conscience of every believer, all God’s waves and billows of wrath and judegement passed over the spotless person of the Lord Jesus when He hung upon the cross. Yes, Christ exhausted the cup of wrath and judgement on our behalf through.

His righteous accomplished work on Calvary's Cross. Had Noah any anxiety about the weves and billows of divine judgement? None whatsoever. Noah was placed beyond the reach of judgement, and placed there, too, by God Himself. Noah floated in peace on that very water by which the world was judged. He might have said, in the triumphant language of Romans, "If God be for us, who can be against us". Noah had been invited into the Ark by God Himself. "Come thou and all thy house into

the Ark". (7:1) and when he had taken his place of safety and peace there, "The Lord shut the door". (7:16). Here was perfect security. God kept the door, and no-one could go in or out without Him. Such also is the security for the believing Christian. Jesus said, "And you shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck you out of my hand". For Noah and his family the wooden Ark was God's salvation. For us today, a i wooden cross symbolizes Satan’s defeat our salvation through Christ.
