Volleyball ends
Waimea College and Christchurch Girls' High School were the top senior teams in the Southern Zone secondary schools volleyball tournament held in Christchurch over the week-end. The top three teams in each of the tour sections qualified for the national championships, "hich will be held in Christchurch from Mat 12-14.
Final placings were:— Senior boys.—Waimea College 1. King's H.S. 2. Cashmere H.S. 3. Aranui U.S. 4. Otago B.H.S. ■*>. Nelson College 6. King’s B 7.
Bayfield H.S. 8. Shirley B.H.S. 9, Linwood H.S. 10.
Senior girls. — Christchurch G.H.S. 1, Nelson 2. Avonside G.H.S. 3 Aranui 4. Villa Maria College 5. Christchurch B 6, Bayfield 7. Otago G.H.S. 8. Waimea 9. Aranui B 10. Junior boys.—Kings A 1. Waimea 2. Aranui 3. Kings B 4, Kings C 5. Hillmorton A 6, Hill-; morion B 7.
