Sponsor withdraws
NZPA Melbourne Telecom Australia has withdrawn its $175,000 sponsorship of the Australian P.G.A. golf championships — and left the organisers with a king-size headache. Speaking in Adelaide (yesterday the P.G.A. tournament director, Mr Bob Touhy, said the withdrawal had come as a surprise because only a few weeks ago * Telecom had confirmed its .involvement this year.
