Jail after robbery
PA Wellington / Two men who pleaded | guilty to the armed robbery | with a shotgun of Cains Motors, Upper Hutt, on : March 6 this year have been • sentenced in the Supreme I Court at Wellington. . Gary Earl Allen, aged 22, I fitter, was sentenced to four I years jail and Michael James Mulholand, aged 17, unemployed, to Borstal training.
Mr Justice Jeffries said it was absolutely essential for the protection of society that the Court indicate its condemnation of armed robbery.
In addition to the armed robbery, Allen pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted aggravated robbery and two charges of burglary. Mulholand pleaded guilty to two charges of burglary.
Concurrent sentences were imposed on those charges.
