Truants on charges
PA Wellington Eight teen-agers, including four girls playing truant from college, have been arrested by the police at Lower Hutt and Wainuiomata on charges of burglary. The head of the Lower Hutt C. 1.8., (Detective Inspector C. Wilson) said the schoolgirls had amassed property totalling $3OOO after three house breaks at Wainuiomata. The arrests follow comments by Mr Wilson, who said he' believed truants were responsible for a rash of house burglaries in the area.
