About 200 more grocery) lines rose in price during March, according to the I Wellington branch of Cam- 1 paign Against Rising Prices. This brought the total i number of grocery price in-j creases this year to about 540. said the secretary of the branch (Mrs C. Kelly). Among the bigger price l rises were a 21 per cent in-, crease on 400 g jars of St- - red plum jam; an_ 181 per cent increase on 45cm Kiwi Nylaces; a 12 per cent
[increase on 2Soml bottles of I Gregg’s cordial; and an 11 per cent increase on 400 g 1 packets of Edmonds custard' powder. t There had also been an 8 I'per cent price increase on (.short Tex toothbrushes, 220 g ' containers of Johnson’s Baby ’ Powder, and I.4kg packets of Cremoata. Medium Kiwi Hshoe polish and 750 g packets iof Weetbix had risen by 7 per cent, and 750 g packets >lof Kornjes and tins of Edi monds baking powder by 6 per cent.
