The successful applicant will be required to establish a comprehensive maintenance system for the National Hospital. Duties will include the following: (i) Organisation of the Hospital Engineering Department (identifying staffing and equipment needs). (ii) Establishment of an Apprenticeship Training Scheme specialising in hospital maintenance matters. (iii) Revision of Maintenance Work Programme for the Engineering Department and setting up a records system for all areas covered by the department. Inspection and light servicing of equipment will be required in the initial stages of the assignment. The major area of responsibility. However, will be in training and supervision of hospital maintenance staff working towards a viable and self-sufficient hospital maintenance programme.
