Ito recover from an injured wrist joint. Miss Valley Inn was matched against Tearaway Owl in a main event over 468 m at ; Gosford. A week earlier. Tearaway Owl had won the Futurity Stakes (with a $5OOO stake at the Sydney i metropolitan track. Wentworth Park. His time was only margin ally outside the track record. The same dog is a favourite for the $lO,OOO Willow Classic on that track next week. But Tearaway Owl had to take a back seat to Miss Valiev Inn jat Gosford. The brindle bitch jumped clear of the field from the start and was three lengths clear of Tearaway Owl along the back straight. The gap closed slightly in the home straight, but Miss Valley Inn still had a j convincing lead at the finish from the hot favourite. It was her best win in a distinguished! (racing career in both countries.!
