Two die after stabbings
PA , Wellington A young woman will appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Lower Hutt today charged with the murder of a man at Petone on Saturday.
The police said that Ronald Francis Graham, aged 35, was stabbed with a long-bladed knife at his home. He died four hours later in the Hutt Hospital, after extensive surgery. The woman, aged 25, was arrested yesterday afternoon.
A man, aged 36, has been charged with the murder of a Napier man, aged 24, who was found dead with stab wounds to the stomach, chest, and arms in a house in May Avenue, Napier, on Friday.
The accused entered no plea when he appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Napier on Saturday. He was remanded in custody to today. A woman in the house was taken to Napier Hospital for surgery for stab wounds. The woman, aged 35, is reported to be in a satisfactory condition. Mr J. R. Butson, J.P., ordered suppression of the names of the accused and the dead man.
