Election of board cost $14,441
The North Canterbury Catchment Board yesterday approved the payment of vouchers amounting to i $334,872 for the period from ‘February 18 to March 27. This included payment to j j the Christchurch City Counici] of $14,441 for election.' I expenses. The election charges ex-; ceeded the board’s estimate ;■ by about $3OOO. However, the board received $680,764 in rates to March 27, $59,002 coming | from the Christchurch City I Council. The payments included a $lOO,OOO term deposit for a 60-day period, and $2446 for board membe.s’ expenses. The board approved the gift of blacksmith’s tools from its old works to the Ferrymead Trust. Also it agreed to seek to have its Kainga and Tai Tapu yards designated “for Catchment Board purposes” to facilitate obtaining building permits for buildings and improvements in what are now rural zones.
