Nuclear test

Britain and the United : States will explode an underground nuclear device today at the Nevada test site 110 km north-west of Las Vegas, their first joint nuclear test since August, 1976. The device is between 20 and 150 kilotonnes. In making the announcement the United States Department of Energy refused to be more specific. Sources in London said the blast would test the nuclear warheads used in 64 Polaris missiles on board British submarines.
