Pollution protest march in Paris
NZPA-Reuter Paris Several thousand people have staged a march in Paris to protest against the, oil spilled by the wrecked supertanker Amoco Cadiz which polluted the picturesque Brittany coast. The demonstration, by an; estimated 6000 people, was backed by the Socialist’ Partv and Communist Party.! as well as several Left-wing' trade unions. The police 'say one demon-; straior who was masked' threw a petrol bomb at a police car. Another car was! also set alight, but there were no other incidentsThe marchers, calling for immediate compensation for those affected by the disaster and for stricter controls on tankers, chanted “multi-natitonal . . . multipollution.”
