Light fingers?
PA Auckland Twenty tonnes of earthmoving equipment worth about $16,000 have disappeared from Penrose. A hulldozer and scoop, both painted bright yellow, disappeared between 5.30 and 10 p.m. on Tuesday from a yard on the busy Great South Road. They were owned by Mr A. Bilish, of Machinery
Equipment Ltd. The thieves also managed to dodge security patrols. Mr Bilish believes the thieves used a transporter to move the bulldozer, and somehow towed the scoop away. Small items had disappeared from his premises previously but nothing as large as this equipment.
