New appointment to Rural Bank
Mr A. B Fear, who has spent more than 20 years in farm finance and valuation work, has been appointed assistant general manager of the Rural Banking and Finance Corporation. The position is a new one which recognises the expanding activities of the bank in financing New Zealand's farm and fishing industries. This year, the Rural Bank is expected to approve loans of more than S2OOM for farm settlement and development, for the expansion ot rural-based industries, and
; for the development of the New Zealand fishing fleet and shore-based facilities. Cr Fear will be responsible for co-ordinating and
controlling the bank's lending activities. Mr Fear joined the former .State Advances Corporation (in 1955 in Hamilton as a farm appraiser. Subsequently, he served as senior farm appraiser in Gisborne, district appraiser in Te Kuiti, and supervising appraiser at head office. He later became divisional director, and before his present appointment, was chief appraiser. . Mr Fear is a registered valuer, a registered farm management consultant, and a member of the board of examiners of the Institute of Valuers.
