PA Wellington. 1 In the seven months ) ended January 31. 7?1.57R : bales of greasy wool and 1 15.764 bales of scoured i wool with a total net i weight of 108,936 tonnes i were sold at auction n I New Zealand for | 5212.24 M. according to tne ! Wool Board. In the same seven ; months of last season ! such sales totalled 692.123 ! bales of greasy wool and ! 14,042 bales of scoured ' wool weighing 106-359 | tonnes and realised i 5245.64 M. This season, therefore. • 2577 tonnes (2.4 per cent) ! more wool was sold than I last season but the return i was §33.4M or 13.6 per cent less. The average prices real- j ised for greasy wool sold ! at auction this season to ; January 31 was 193.49 c a 1 kilogram compared with 229.62 c a kilogram in the j same period of the pre- ; vious season. |
