N.Z. volleyball squads named
Canterbury volleyball players] feature prominently in the; national squads from which the j men’s and women’s teams for an international tournament in New. Caledonia next month will be selected. The squads will assemble on! different week-ends this month* in Wellington for trials and: Selection. The tournament will; be held at the end of May in: Noumea. featuring Australia, New Caledonia and French Polynesia as well as New Zealand. The women’s trials are on the week-end of April 15-16, and the I men’s the following week-end.] The named squads are also expected to provide the bulk of the! teams for the Asian championships later in the year. The six Canterbury women in! the squad includes the current t national team captain, Mary | Fastier. The others are Nan; Phillips, Sandy Fawcett. Julie 1
