Bombing reward
NZPA Sydney A “wanted” poster announcing a SAustIOO.OOO reward in the Sydney Hilton bomb inquiry is being distributed throughout Australia. The poster is titled “Bomb outrage — $lOO,OOO reward.”
The Federal and New South Wales Governments have offered sAustso,ooo each for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the explosion. Smaller amounts are offered for information which assists in the investigation. The reward offer is valid until March 2, 1980, but may be renewed then.
Two garbage men died in the explosion outside the Sydney Hilton Hotel about 12.40 a.m. on February 13. A police constable died later in hospital. The explosion occurred in a garbage truck outside the hotel where the Commonwealth Heads of Government were staying.
Police and intelligence organisations had several leads, but all suspects have so far been cleared.
