Writers’ awards established
Three new writers’ awards' have been established ini Xew Zealand to be jointly' financed by the Literary i Fund and three companies,; EC.I. New Zealand. Ltd; Alex Harvey Industries. Ltd: and Quality Packers. Ltd. The new awards would be available to New Zealand, writers to enable them to work full-time at their craft. ‘said the Minister for the' I Arts (Mr Higher). i

The third bursary of $5OOO will be avail-, able to writers of imagina>tive work for children.
