Astride his racing bike,! ■ I specially built in London,: ! ] Ivan Strahl crossed Arthur’s !iPass and cycled down the, : West Coast. He then: ; Travelled through Haast Pass,] s around the lakes to Queens-] ■ town, and then down to Cen-I j tral Otago just in time to] . sample the last -of the stone I fruit. - Mr Strahl then passed through the Cromwell Gorge, to Lowburn, and through the Lindis Pass. The last leg of the journey took him from Lake Tekapb to Fairlie, past the Rakaia] Gorge and through Glentun-I ;nel to Christchurch. I He had nine stoppages for • punctures, and one blow out] |on his trip, which took him] less than two weeks.
