Girl home again
A Hawarden girl who disappeared from her home on Monday was found at Woodend yesterday by the Rangiora police. Diane Alice Penwell, aged 15, had hitch-hiked to Woodend and was found in a house there at 2.30 p.m. She has been returned to her parents. Senior-Sergeant P. J.
Gilbert, of Rangiora, said a search party of six policemen from Christchurch had been called out but the girl was found before the search began. The girl disappeared about 8.20 p.m. on Monday after she left home to check her horse which is kept' in a paddock about 800 m from Hawarden township.
