No Show appeals today

Special correspondent Wellington At nine years of age the Wairoa galloper, No Show, is hax--ing a good season and looks set to continue the run by xvinning the Napier Park Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double at Hastings today. in his last run No Show gave his tVairoa Cup rivals little < hance as he skipped away in the closing stages to score by a length and a quarter. The opposition was not poor, second place going to Irish Duke, with today’s rival, Bartelle, next, ahead ot Chinkara. The gelding has drawn towards the outside oi today’s field, but drops slightly in the weights, and in Maurice Campbell he has an experienced rider xvho will give him every chance. Heidelberg was a big disappointment to his followers in the second leg at Hastings on Saturday. when he could manage only third place behind Churchill Lad and Al Donte. He has a chance to recover some of those losses in the McWilliams Wines Sprint today, but could again find the improving Al Donte a stumbling block. -The latter set a hot pace on Saturday and was beaten only by a nose by Churchill Lad, which. has been scratched today. Al Donte will no doubt again try to make it a pillar-to-post affair and this time might be able to get away with it. Selections: — 123 p.m.—Emerson Maiden— First division: Scarlet Ribbon, Taz Beebe.
