Had to surrender winning ride
The Wingatui horseman Jim Pankhurst, had to stant down after riding in twi races at Ashburton yester day. He had chest pains am soreness in a shoulder whei he took Jetty to the star for the Trial Stakes No 1 and felt he would be unabl to do justice to his mount. Fortunately Allister Robin son, another experience! Wingatui jockey, was on thi ground without a mount ant he was substituted for Pau khurst. It was a lucky switch fq Robinson. He rode Jetty to i neck victory over Finalist. Jetty was one of the bel ter-backed runners after i placed run al her previoui start, for Mr and Mrs I. R Geary.
