Forecasts: Canterbury: Mainly fine and mild with westerly winds freshening inland and north-easterlies developing about the coast. Marlborough, Nelson: West or south-westerlies, fresh and gusty in exposed places; mostly fine but a

few showers in the west» ern ranges of Nelson and perhaps at first on the Kaikoura coast; mild out of the winds. Buller, Westland: Fresh south-westerlies, changeable with showers and fair periods; moderate temperatures. Outlook: Fair in Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson; scattered showers in Buller and Westland.
