N.Z. again in bombing lead

. NZPA Sydney New South Wales detectives investigating the fatal bombing outside Sydney’s Hilton Hotel during the Commonwealth heads of Government meeting last month are checking a further lead — the second reported lead involving New Zealand. A man has told the Sydney Special Branch police about a girl seen carrying a cardboard box near the Hilton Hotel the day before the bombing on Februaiv 13. The man. who police interviewed at Nowra, said he had met a New Zealand girl, who gave her name as Penny, the Friday before the bombing. He told them that during the days before the bombing, the girl had asked him

to show her the Hilton Hotel. He said she had flown into a rage over the present New Zealand abortion policy when he spoke to her about the Muldoon Government. The man told the police that he had later seen the girl leaving a hotel in Coogee, carrying a cardboard box about the size of a shoebox. Mr Muldoon has also been cited in connection with another reputed lead. A telephone call to a Sydney television station on the eve of the bombing said that “something big” would happen at the conference; that Mr Muldoon would be there; and that the station should have its cameras at the Hilton. Three people died as a result of the bombing.
