Skindiver drowned

PA Wellington A young skindiver arowned while diving for crayfish at Robin Hood Bay, near Blenheim, yesterday. He was Dennis Raymond Ashwell, aged 21, of Blenheim. The police said that Mr Ashwell was diving with two friends at the bay, just north of Blenheim, close to shore and in about 6m of watet. The police search-and-rescue team was called out, and found Mr Ashwell’s body about 4 p.m.
