Statement denied
The Lebanese Rightist leader, Camille Chamoun, and his son, Dory, have dissociated themselves from a statement by a spokesman of their National Liberal Party accusing Syria of preparing an offensive against Lebanon’s Rightists. The statement, issued by the party’s foreign press department, said Syrian troops backed by tanks and artillery had surrounded east Beirut to isolate traditional Christian mountain aroas and prepare for a sti.itegic offensive against Lebanon. — Beirut.
