The Project is intended to promote skipjack tuna fishing around the Solomons, using ten ferrocement pole and line catcher boats constructed locally. The headquarters are based on Tulagi and the successful applicant will be expected to take up his appointment towards June. The Ferro-cement Construction Expert will be experienced in the construction of ferro-cement hulls. His duties will include the supervision of the whole process of construction of hulls and superstructure for four boats. He will also advise on the .establishing of a warehouse for spares, material and gear, and will select a locally recruited counterpart and train him during the period of his assignment.
