Two teachers broke strike
Two teachers at Burnside High School did not join the national strike on Thursday. It was reported in “The ‘ Press” yesterday that the ■ only State secondary schools jin Christchurch where (teachers other than! ( principals and eputies j arrived were those with ■ boarding hostels and ■ Avonside Girls’ High School, j (where a few teachers came i unofficially but were not ■ regarded as strike-breakers. I The two Burnside teachers ■ went to school because they ! were opposed to striking on (ethical grounds. They supervised three pupils who attended school. •
