I Several placing were reversed from the recent South Island ' contest when the Ellesmere marching championships were held at Leeston. , In the midget grade. Canter ' bury Motors defeated the South Island title-holder. Blue Stai 1 Taxis, while Vanetta Johnston the leader for Canterbury Motors, also had a convincing win over Toni Sibley <Blue Star' and Jvlie Reed (McVicar). The young Bexley Rangers team came second in the dis play section, avenging an earlier defeat by McVicar. Acme Pioneers continued then success in the senior guide, with onh 23 points between the teamJ in th.? next three places. Con ron Lancers. Skellerup Militaires and McAlpine Stars Xfter winning the South Island senior title last week.
