Dollar recovers
The United States dollarequalled its record low[ against the yen on the Tokyo | foreign exchange market bn | Tuesday, but later recovered [ after substantial intervention I by the Bank of Japan. The dollar closed at 238.80 yen after slumping to 237.00 yen, first set on January 4. Dealers said the Central Bank was thought to have bought more than S3OOM to support the U.S. currency. About SSISM changed hands during the day in active trading.
