Town’s smell disliked
The Kaiapoi Borough Council dislikes the town’s smell.
Cr. R. L. Wylie, at the council’s meeting this month, drew attention to the "Offensive smell,” generally prevailing. The Mayor of Kaiapoi (Mr B. O. Williams) agreed it was much stronger than that experienced previously from the council sewerage system’s Imhoff tank at its worst. The attention of the management of N.C.F., Ltd, will be drawn to the smell, which apparently was coming from its premises; and the firm will be asked what steps, if any, can be taken to abate the nuisance.
