Hurricane Kiwi is Gore fancy

Special correspondent Invercargill On the strength of his good second to Hurricane Kiwi at Invercargill on Monday, the three-year-old. Hurricane Guy, will be a ready made favourite for the Gore Town and Country Club Handicap, main event and first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Gore Trotting Club’s autumn meeting tomorrow. Hurricane Guy’s latest placing was one of ills best efforts, as he was in the open all the way and looked all over a winner until Hurricane Kiwi flashed up to take it off him. Tuapeka Dream has shown up as a smart race mare and was a last-start winner at Oamaru earlier in the month. Radiant Miss indicated that she had held her recent form with a good third in the Blampieds Breeders Stakes at Invercargill and again looks certain to be in it. Taringa Bay and Sir Jim appeal most of the others.

Transglo. which looked unlucky in not finishing closer than fourth in the Blampieds Breeders Stakes on Monday, will have her chance in the second leg, the Royal Festival Handicap. Her run was a good one and had she been able to work clear earlier she could well have beaten her stablemate, Lauralne Hanover.

Bird of Paradise has shown sharply improved form in his latest racing, being a double winner at Forbury Park.

Fallimento’s fifth on Monday was a good effort as he did not get racing room over the closing stages until the race was all over. Earlier in the season he had won three races on end. Scottish Emerald, Moving Grace, and Sole Chance will all be taken into account. Selections:—
