Team spread three ways
Special correspondent Palmerston North
Garth Ivil will spread his team three ways this week-end with runners at Rangitikei. Nelson, where he has a large team engaged, and at Te Aroha, where Exotic will contest the Breeders’ Stakes. Exotic, which has thrived since her second to Ariana at Carterton, completed a satisfactory trial in the hands of Graeme Lord, who will be her racerider. Credit Note looked fit for the Nelson Cup, while Archippus ran a good trial for the Rangitikei Cup when he was trounced by Kirstie over 1600 m. Archippus always seems to race best when he goes poorly on the track.
On the plough, Exotic was not at top. vet performed well to run 1200 m in I min 17.4 sec. the last 600 m in 39.45ee. Exotic is extra well though she will need to be at her best against a strong field at Te Aroha.
Credit Note and leascamp ran 600 m together in Imin 45sec, the last 600 m in 40sec. Both went well, although Credit. Note would be further improved bv the gallop. Kirstie ran right away from Archippus at the end of 1600 m in Imin 43.45ec. the last 600 m •in 39.45ec. Kirstie looks a strong chance in the Beehive HighI weight at Nelson.
