I 7231 ■ OTAGO HOSPITAL BOARD DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY SERVICES Graduate Post in Electron Microscopy APPLICATIONS from Science Graduates are requested for the post of Graduate Technologist or Hospital Scientific Officer in the Surgical Pathology Laboratory of the Diagnostic Laboratory Services. The duties will! be concerned with Diagnostic Electron Microscopy and the appointe will work in close conjunction with the Electron Microscope Laboratory of the iUniversity of Otago,‘Depart;ment of Pathology. Experi- ■ ence in electron microscopy ; would be advantageous but i not essential and the level jof appointment and grading iwill depend on the appointee’s qualifications and experience. Duties will include the preparation of tissues for examl-■ nation by transmission elec-' tron microscopy as well as the viewing, photography and interpretation of biopsy material for clinical diagnostic purposes. An interest in developmental and clinical investigative work would be encouraged. Although the bulk of the duties would be related to transmission electron microscopy ther would also be access to a scanning electron microscope. The Laboratory is equipped with aa Siemen’s Elmiskop 102 and a Hitachi HUH transmission electron microscope and a Siemen’s Etec Autoscan.
