Good reaction to bus ban
There has been no adverse 1 reaction to the trial nonsmoking ban imposed on [ some Railways Road Services coach routes. The Christchurch district manager of the Railways Department (Mr R. S. McKenzie) said yesterday that the only correspondence and comments had been positive. The trial ban on one North Island and one South
Island route would be lifted early in March. Reactions would then be collated and a decision made on a blanket ban on all services, Mr McKenzie said. Seven persons and one organisation had recorded their appreciation of a smoke-free coach since the ban began on the Christ-church-Fox Glacier service two weeks and a half ago, he said.
