Control line contest to N.Z.
New Zealand beat Australia in the control line model aeroplane contest held at Kaiapoi. Two previous contests, at Kaiapoi and Brisbane, were won by Australia.
The weather at the Kaiapoi Domain was almost perfect for the three days of events, which were attended
by a large number of spectators.
Harvey Westland set a New Zealand record in the speed event over 10 laps, of 231.2 km/h. Results of the finals, with Australian competitors marked (A) were:— Speed.—Australia 1. New Zealand 2. Individual: Westland, 15.575ec. 1; G. Burgess (A) 15.985ec, 2; D. Curry (A)
