All paediatric and neonatal problems from this area are treated at Southland Hospital. The children’s ward admits both medical and surgical problems. The present nursery is to be replaced by a new neonatal suite within the new Obstetric Unit which is due for completion in 1979. Commitments within the hospital include inpatient care, follow-up clinics and and outpatient referrals. Salary within the Specialist Automatic Scale: $17,060 to $22,161 plus C.O.L. allowance.
