Picet glauca conica makes a tine specimen conifer for many situations in the garden. This is a slow but steady-growing dwarf subject which eventually exceeds one metre in height with a basal diameter of at least half this. Caterpillars can at times almost denude this conifer of its foliage, and spraying with carbaryl is recommended as soon as the first signs of damage—browning and falling of needles—is noticed.
