Brabin XI has draw

PA Wellington Hutt Valley, 30 runs short of victory, but with only one wicket in hand, held the New Zealand Brabin Cup XI to a draw at Te Whiti Park, Lower Hutt, yesterday. Hutt Valley was set 209 to win after the Brabin side declared Its second innings at 177 for 5, and was helped towards the total by a 76 from Steve Barnden and a 63 from Peter McGregor.

With only one wicket left. Hutt Valley finished its second innings at 179 for nine. For the Brabin side, Steve Bateman took four fer 18 off five overs.
