Bubbles that last much longer

No-one is ever too old to blow bubbles. Blow them on a sunny day. on a wet day in the kitchen, with friends, or on your own. This pastime is fun wherever you are. The only trouble is that bubbles burst far too quickly. Here is a solution to the problem. Follow the recipe and vou will have stronger and longer-lasting bubbles. First, make a fairly thick soapy mixture out of washing-up liquid and water. Add some glycerine. You need enough to make the mixture feel slightly gluey when it is stirred rapidly. Now you are ready. Use a circular piece of wire on a stem or a pipe and start blowing bubbles. They will last longer than soaponly bubbles for the glycerine gives each bubble a tougher skin.

You can also paint with bubbles and make exciting pictures. Use sheets of cardboard as paper is too thin. First, make your bubbles by beating washing-up liquid and water with an egg beater. Beat well so that the bubbles are thick and almost stiff. Pour the bubbles into three or four small bowls and make each a separate colour by adding powdered paints or food colouring. Mix well. Use either your hands or brushes to spread the coloured bubble mixtures on to the cardboard. Form designs or try shaping scenes or animals. Experiment with other ideas too. dry in a safe place. I hope you will bi pleased with your work and like the crusty feel of bubble pictures.
