STC SALE BY AUCTION OF VESSEL “SUZY Q” AND EQUIPMENT PURSUANT to an order of this Court directing me as Registrar of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Auckland (Admiralty Jurisdiction) the 11 ton (net) oil screw vessel “Suzy Q” together with loose equipment will be offered for sale by Cathcart and Turnbull, Limited, at their premises at 291 Madras Street, Christchurch, on Tuesday, the 24th day of January, 1978, at 2.15 p.m. Description of Vessel: This flush deck auxiliary sailing ketch with raised trunk cabin was built in 1938 by August Nelson, Portland, Oregon, United States of America. The hull is of Port Orford cedar with oak stem, keel stem frame, frames and teak decking. Its overall length is approximately 39ft, breadth 10ft 6in, draft approximately 6ft. It is fitted with a Westerbeke four cylinder diesel auxiliary engine believed to be about 40 h.p., consists of two single forecastle berths and two single berths in the main cabin which has full headroom.

Description of Loose Equipment: This consists of Oregon pine spars, sails, winches, radio direction finder, “Marriner” radio telephone, barometer and clock, bilge pumps, battery bank and other gear. The vessel is berthed to the east of No. 2 wharf at Lyttelton near the jetty used by the Diamond Harbour Ferry and may be inspected during the hours 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Monday to Saturday bv contacting Messrs J. W. Wood and Associates, Surveyors, Lyttelton, or the auctioneers. The vessel and equipment are offered for sale together and are sold “as is, where is.” All warranties and conditions are expressly excluded.
