‘Border clash toll 9’
NZPA Bangkok At least nine communist guerrillas have been killed in a clash with Thai Government forces' near the Cambodian border, according to reports in Bangkok. A Thai-language newspaper, the “Daily News,” reported from Prachinburi province that the incident took place last Saturday at a village in the district of Aranyaprathet. The report, on which no official information has been received, said there were no casualties among the defending forces supported by two aircraft. The five-hour clash had occurred when about 200 guerrillas, who have their base on a mountain range near the village, attacked it with rockets and machineguns, only slightly damaging some houses, it said.
