Judge rests
PA Wellington The Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild) has taken medical advice to rest completely until the end of January. Announcing this yesterday, the Attorney-General (Mr Wilkinson) said the speech defect Sir Richard had recently been suffering was believed to be of
neurological origin, but his medical advisers would review his condition early next year. Mr Wilkinson said that arrangements had been made for another judge to preside over the Court of Appeal to hear the various appeals resulting from the JBL trial in the Supreme Court.
