Power cost to increase
The council’s finance and administration committee recommended that the price of electricity should be increased 7 per cent from April 1 next. Members were told that if the power pnce was increased by the minimum of 41 per cent, the electricity committee would have a deficit of $64,000.
If it was increased 7' per cent, there would be a 525.000 deficit. Cr T. P. Wills moved that the 7 per cent increase be adopted, so that the council; could make good its debts. The motion was passed unanimously. It will be referred to the’ council’s meeting on December 20.
